Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in developing quantum algorithms and error-correction protocols for 2026-era hardware
- Design and execute research roadmaps for quantum supremacy applications in cryptography, materials science, and AI
- Collaborate with industry partners to prototype quantum solutions for real-world optimization challenges
- Secure and manage federal/industry research grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers and publish findings in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Drive patent development for novel quantum hardware architectures
- Present quantum computing roadmaps to C-suite executives and government stakeholders
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of research experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science journals or equivalent quantum computing publications
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum error correction codes
- Experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Demonstrated success in securing $1M+ research grants or industry partnerships
- Strong background in superconducting qubits or topological quantum computing
- Exceptional ability to translate complex quantum concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- History of leading cross-functional teams through technology commercialization cycles
