Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain the core IT infrastructure for the 2026 Census data collection and processing pipelines.
- Implement robust data security protocols and compliance measures (FedRAMP, NIST) to protect sensitive demographic information.
- Lead the modernization of legacy systems, migrating critical census data to secure cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Collaborate with statisticians and data scientists to optimize data ingestion and real-time analytics tools.
- Conduct rigorous testing and quality assurance (QA) to ensure zero data loss and 99.99% system uptime.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in large-scale data engineering, systems architecture, or IT project management.
- Proven expertise in cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with government contracting standards, data privacy laws (GDPR, HIPAA, FISMA), and cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.
