Job Description

Join Nexus Horizon Labs, the pioneers of next-generation computational paradigms. We are building the infrastructure for the 2026 era of computing and need a visionary Quantum Systems Architect to define the quantum future.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between theoretical quantum physics and scalable software engineering. You will architect fault-tolerant quantum processors and develop high-level compilers that translate classical algorithms into quantum logic. If you are driven by the challenge of breaking the computational barrier of Moore's Law, this is your opportunity to lead the charge.

Why Nexus Horizon?

  • Work with state-of-the-art superconducting qubit hardware.
  • Competitive equity package with long-term horizon alignment.
  • Access to a top-tier R&D facility in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Design: Design and optimize quantum circuit architectures to maximize coherence times and minimize error rates.
  • Hardware-Software Interface: Develop low-level software tools and drivers to interface with next-gen quantum processing units (QPUs).
  • Algorithm Development: Lead the research and implementation of quantum error correction (QEC) codes and variational quantum algorithms.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor a diverse team of quantum physicists, software engineers, and hardware specialists.
  • Prototyping: Build and validate proof-of-concept quantum systems for complex optimization and simulation tasks.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation and whitepapers for internal research and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education: Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on quantum information science.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantum computing research, quantum software development, or hardware architecture.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and experience with quantum SDKs (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, or PyQuil).
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of quantum mechanics, linear algebra, and quantum error correction.
  • Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to troubleshoot complex systems and derive innovative solutions to theoretical and practical problems.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
