Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy protocols using trapped-ion and superconducting qubits
- Develop error correction frameworks to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing by 2026
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors with 500+ qubit scalability
- Publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science programs
- Secure $1M+ in quantum research grants from DARPA/NSF
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm development with 3+ years of research experience
- Pub record in top-tier quantum computing publications
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or trapped-ion technologies
- Strong background in linear algebra and computational complexity theory
- Track record of leading high-impact quantum research projects
