Responsibilities
- Design and implement fault-tolerant quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation
- Lead research in quantum error correction techniques and topological qubit stabilization
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical machine learning frameworks
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors at 20mK temperatures
- Secure NSF and DoD grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers and publish in Nature Physics/Quantum
- Translate theoretical models into commercial applications with partner firms
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computational Physics, or Computer Science
- 5+ years of quantum algorithm development (Qiskit/Cirq proficiency required)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological computing
- Expertise in tensor networks and quantum Monte Carlo simulations
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or trapped-ion platforms
- Strong Python/C++ programming with scientific computing libraries
- Track record of securing $500K+ in research grants
