Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting and photonic systems
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve practical quantum advantage
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate theoretical models into deployable solutions
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present findings at international conferences
- Secure and manage government/private research funding for quantum initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven track record in quantum algorithm development and experimental implementation
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science journals or equivalent venues
- Experience securing grants from NSF, DOE, or DARPA
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware limitations and mitigation strategies
