Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge theoretical concepts with practical implementations
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international quantum computing conferences
- Secure and manage $2M+ in annual research grants from government and industry partners
- Mentor junior researchers and establish best practices for quantum software development
- Identify commercial applications for quantum solutions in finance, logistics, and materials science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science from an accredited institution
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing principles
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments and parallel programming
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding through grants and proposals
- Experience mentoring graduate-level researchers or interns
- Strong track record of translating theoretical concepts into practical applications
