Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams in developing novel quantum algorithms for commercial applications
- Design and implement error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum gate operations and qubit stability
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Drive quantum security initiatives for government and enterprise clients
- Mentor PhD researchers and build quantum talent pipeline programs
- Secure $5M+ in annual research grants from DARPA, NSF, and industry partners
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 8+ years of quantum computing research with demonstrated fault-tolerance achievements
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design and quantum circuit optimization
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Experience securing federal research grants and managing R&D budgets
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC, etc.)
- Track record of translating theoretical concepts into commercial prototypes
