Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive 2026 strategic foresight framework using horizon scanning, trend analysis, and scenario planning
- Lead cross-functional 'Future Labs' to prototype emerging technologies (AI, quantum, biotech) and validate market readiness
- Produce quarterly Future State Briefings for the Board of Directors with actionable insights on disruptive risks/opportunities
- Architect the Innovation Pipeline: Identify, evaluate, and prioritize high-impact ventures with 5+ year ROI horizons
- Partner with R&D to integrate future-ready capabilities into product roadmaps (e.g., adaptive AI ethics frameworks)
- Establish strategic alliances with academic institutions (MIT, Stanford) and innovation hubs to accelerate breakthrough research
- Mentor the next generation of futurists through our 'Horizon Scholars' program
Qualifications
- 15+ years in strategic foresight, innovation consulting, or R&D leadership with demonstrable impact on 5+ year horizons
- Expertise in emerging technologies: AI/ML, quantum computing, synthetic biology, or climate tech
- Proven ability to translate complex future scenarios into executable business strategies
- Published thought leadership in top-tier journals (Harvard Business Review, Nature Futures) or major conferences
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical field with PhD preferred
- Experience leading global teams across 3+ continents with cultural fluency in innovation ecosystems
- Portfolio of successfully implemented future-proof initiatives (quantifiable ROI required)
- Certification in Strategic Foresight (e.g., from University of Houston) or equivalent
