Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment processes including job postings, resume screening, and interview coordination
- Support new hire onboarding by preparing employment documents and conducting orientation sessions
- Maintain accurate HR records in our HRIS system ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations
- Administer employee benefits programs and address initial benefits inquiries
- Assist with HR compliance audits and documentation for EEOC and FMLA requirements
- Support employee engagement initiatives including recognition programs and surveys
- Collaborate with department managers on staffing needs and performance management processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 0-2 years of HR internship or administrative experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customer service mindset
- Detail-oriented with ability to maintain confidential information
- Basic understanding of federal and state employment regulations
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and eagerness to learn HR best practices
- Valid Virginia driver's license may be required for occasional off-site meetings
