Responsibilities
- Design and implement ethical AI governance frameworks for autonomous systems and decision-making algorithms
- Lead cross-functional teams to conduct bias audits and fairness assessments in ML pipelines
- Develop policy recommendations for regulatory bodies concerning AI deployment standards
- Create transparency protocols for explainable AI (XAI) implementations in critical infrastructure
- Establish ethical risk assessment methodologies for emerging technologies (quantum computing, neural interfaces)
- Collaborate with product teams to embed ethics by design in development lifecycles
- Publish white papers and contribute to industry ethics standards bodies
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Ethics, Philosophy, or related field with 5+ years AI research experience
- Expertise in fairness, accountability, and transparency (FAT) frameworks
- Proven track record of publishing in top-tier AI ethics journals/conferences
- Deep knowledge of global AI regulations (EU AI Act, NIST frameworks)
- Proficiency in bias detection tools (AIF360, IBM Fairness 360)
- Experience with ethical risk assessment methodologies
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to stakeholders
- Portfolio demonstrating impact on real-world AI systems
