Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms optimized for 2026-era hardware capabilities
- Lead error mitigation research to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical frameworks for enterprise applications
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processor architectures
- Secure $5M+ in research funding through strategic proposals
- Mentor PhD researchers and drive quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on quantum algorithm development with IBM Q or Rigetti systems
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent top-tier journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC, etc.)
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum applications
- Track record of translating theoretical research into practical implementations
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government collaborations
