You'll lead cross-functional teams in developing 5-year innovation roadmaps, securing $10M+ annual R&D budgets, and establishing partnerships with quantum computing, AI ethics, and biotech pioneers. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, possesses deep domain expertise in exponential technologies, and has a proven track record of commercializing future-focused innovations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute 2026-focused innovation roadmaps across quantum computing, neural interfaces, and sustainable tech domains
- Lead $10M+ annual R&D budget allocation for exponential technology initiatives
- Establish strategic partnerships with MIT Media Lab, Singularity University, and DARPA-funded projects
- Commercialize 3+ breakthrough technologies by 2026 through venture incubation and corporate spinoffs
- Present quarterly future-tech briefings to C-suite and board of directors
- Build and lead a 15-person innovation team specializing in emerging tech adoption
- Secure patents for at least 5 proprietary 2026-enabling technologies annually
Qualifications
- 15+ years in technology strategy, R&D leadership, or exponential innovation roles
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Quantum Physics, or Bioengineering preferred
- Track record of commercializing future technologies (AI/ML, quantum, synthetic biology)
- Deep expertise in exponential technology forecasting frameworks (Gartner Hype Cycle, S-curves)
- Experience securing $50M+ in innovation funding from VCs, governments, or corporations
- Prior leadership at top-tier innovation labs (Bell Labs, NASA JPL, or equivalent)
- Published thought leadership on 2026 tech trends in Nature, TechCrunch, or HBR
