Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at cryogenic temperatures
- Collaborate with software teams to develop quantum-classical hybrid computing frameworks
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals (Nature/Science)
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from government/private partners
- Mentor PhD interns and cross-functional engineering teams
- Develop intellectual property strategy with 10+ patents filed annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault tolerance
- Expertise in superconducting qubit systems or trapped-ion technologies
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum data analysis
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing
- Experience with cryogenic systems and RF engineering
- Proven ability to secure government research grants
