Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Lead experimental research on superconducting and photonic quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to translate quantum algorithms into practical implementations
- Publish findings in leading scientific journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional teams on quantum principles
- Secure external funding through NSF, DARPA, and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum information science or condensed matter physics
- Proficiency in quantum circuit design and optimization techniques
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error mitigation strategies
- Experience with cryogenic systems and quantum measurement equipment
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to solve complex computational problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
