Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum machine learning algorithms for 2026-era applications
- Lead cross-functional research teams in developing hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and conferences (Nature, NeurIPS, etc.)
- Translate theoretical innovations into scalable prototypes for commercial deployment
- Collaborate with government agencies on national quantum security initiatives
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates in quantum AI methodologies
- Secure $2M+ in annual research funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Theoretical Computer Science, or Physics with 5+ years research experience
- Published record in quantum machine learning or quantum algorithms (10+ peer-reviewed papers)
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane) and AI/ML libraries
- Expertise in at least two quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Proven ability to secure federal research grants (NSF, DOE, DARPA preferred)
- Deep understanding of post-quantum cryptography and quantum-resistant security protocols
- Experience leading research teams with budget responsibility >$1M annually
