Responsibilities
- Employee Relations & Records: Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files; assist with employee record management and compliance audits.
- Onboarding & Orientation: Coordinate the new hire experience, including scheduling orientations, preparing welcome packets, and facilitating the integration of new team members.
- Benefits Administration: Support the HR department with benefits enrollment, open enrollment periods, and answering employee questions regarding healthcare and perks.
- Recruitment Support: Assist the Talent Acquisition team by scheduling interviews, screening candidates, and managing the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- HR Project Management: Contribute to special projects such as policy updates, employee engagement initiatives, and departmental training sessions.
- Communication Hub: Act as the primary point of contact for internal HR inquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 0-2 years of administrative or HR support experience; internships are highly valued.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HRIS software (e.g., Workday, BambooHR) is a plus.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional, polished demeanor.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced government-affairs environment.
- Integrity: High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive employee data.
