Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams developing next-gen technologies with 3-5 year market impact horizons
- Architect strategic innovation roadmaps for quantum computing applications and AI-biotech convergence
- Secure and manage $5M+ annual R&D budgets through federal grants and venture partnerships
- Establish industry-first partnerships with MIT Media Lab, NASA JPL, and global biotech accelerators
- Translate complex theoretical frameworks into scalable commercial prototypes
- Present breakthrough innovations to C-suite executives and venture capital consortiums
- Mentor PhD researchers and patent 3+ novel technologies annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Computational Physics, Quantum Engineering, or Synthetic Biology (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years in R&D leadership with proven commercialization of emerging technologies
- Expertise in quantum algorithms, CRISPR applications, or neuromorphic computing
- Track record securing >$10M in federal SBIR/STTR grants or venture funding
- Published research in Nature/Science journals or equivalent industry publications
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, and quantum simulation platforms (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Experience with ISO 13485/62304 compliance for medical device innovation
- Fluency in futures forecasting methodologies (Delphi, scenario planning)
