Responsibilities
- Anticipate and analyze emerging technological, societal, and economic trends through horizon scanning and scenario planning
- Develop comprehensive 5-10 year strategic roadmaps aligned with organizational vision and market disruptions
- Lead cross-functional innovation initiatives to prototype future-focused solutions and business models
- Present compelling future scenarios to executive leadership and board members with data-driven insights
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions, research labs, and think tanks to track frontier innovations
- Design and facilitate strategic foresight workshops with global teams to embed future-thinking into DNA
- Author thought leadership publications and whitepapers positioning company as industry futurist authority
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Futures Studies, Strategic Foresight, Technology Forecasting, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 8+ years in strategic planning, innovation consulting, or future-focused roles at Fortune 500 companies
- Proven expertise in horizon scanning, scenario planning, and trend analysis methodologies
- Deep understanding of exponential technologies (AI, quantum computing, biotech, space tech)
- Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills with experience to executive audiences
- Published thought leadership in futures research or innovation strategy publications
- Proficiency in foresight tools (e.g., Delphi method, STEEP analysis, causal layered analysis)
- Track record of translating future scenarios into tangible business strategies and KPIs
