We are seeking a visionary Senior DevOps Engineer to architect the resilient, scalable infrastructure for the historic 2026 FIFA World Cup. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between stadium operations and cloud architecture, ensuring seamless connectivity for fans, broadcasters, and officials. You will be at the forefront of integrating legacy stadium hardware with next-generation edge computing networks.
Responsibilities
- Architect Global Infrastructure: Design and implement resilient cloud architectures for 16 host stadiums across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
- Streamline Deployment: Oversee CI/CD pipelines for real-time broadcasting, scoring updates, and fan engagement platforms.
- Security & Compliance: Collaborate with security teams to achieve SOC2 compliance for high-stakes event data and payment processing.
- Legacy Modernization: Lead the migration of legacy stadium Wi-Fi and ticketing systems to next-gen edge computing networks.
- High Availability: Lead incident response strategies to guarantee zero downtime during match days and major events.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering.
- Tech Stack: Deep expertise in AWS or Azure with proven experience in high-traffic, high-concurrency environments.
- Tools: Strong proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Jenkins.
- Industry: Experience working within the Sports Tech or Large-Scale Event Management sectors is highly preferred.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders and vendors.
