The Role
As a Senior 2D Web Developer, you will be responsible for translating high-fidelity design concepts into fluid, performant 2D web interactions. You will work across the full stack of web technologies, focusing on the creative layer to ensure every pixel serves a purpose.
Responsibilities
- Design & Implementation: Translate Figma designs into high-performance 2D web animations and interactive elements using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize 2D rendering engines (Canvas, SVG, WebGL) to ensure 60fps performance on all devices and network conditions.
- Animation Engineering: Develop custom animation libraries and timelines using GSAP, Anime.js, or native Web Animations API to create immersive user journeys.
- Cross-Platform Development: Build responsive layouts that maintain visual fidelity and interaction quality across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.
- Code Review & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership to junior developers, conducting code reviews and establishing best practices for 2D asset management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers and product managers to define interaction paradigms and technical feasibility.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development with a specific focus on 2D graphics, animation, and interaction design.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3. Deep knowledge of the Canvas API, SVG manipulation, and WebGL libraries (Three.js/PIXI.js).
- Animation Tools: Strong working knowledge of animation tools such as GSAP, Anime.js, or Lottie.
- Problem Solving: Ability to debug complex rendering issues and optimize performance bottlenecks in large-scale applications.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
