Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Conduct experimental research on quantum error correction techniques
- Collaborate with hardware teams to improve qubit stability and coherence times
- Develop quantum machine learning models for predictive analytics
- Publish research in IEEE/ACM journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent applications
- Stay current with emerging quantum standards (NISQ, fault-tolerant architectures)
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of quantum computing research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics
- Publication record in quantum computing or theoretical computer science
- Experience with quantum simulation frameworks (QASM, Quil)
- Expertise in Python/C++ and high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding (NSF, DoD, corporate grants)
