Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting qubits
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to develop hybrid quantum-classical systems
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals
- Secure $1M+ in government/private quantum research grants
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum interns
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computers
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (MS with 5+ years experience)
- 3+ years hands-on quantum computing research with superconducting systems
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum frameworks
- Published work in quantum error correction or algorithm development
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and quantum mechanics
- Experience with cryogenic quantum hardware systems
- Proven ability to secure federal research grants
