Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for practical applications in finance and materials science
- Lead error mitigation strategies to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum processor architectures
- Publish research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $1M+ in government/private quantum research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Drive open-source quantum software contributions to Qiskit/PyTorch
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum gate-based systems (IBM Rigetti preferred)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface code, LDPC)
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with quantum frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published work in top quantum computing conferences (QIP, TQC)
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience securing quantum research funding (NSF, DOE, DARPA)
- US citizenship required for government contract compliance
