Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and cryptography applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum systems using superconducting qubit platforms
- Develop error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and control systems
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with quantum computing focus
- 5+ years of experience with quantum circuit design and simulation tools (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum error correction or quantum algorithms (Nature/Science/IEEE)
- Expertise in cryogenic systems and microwave control for superconducting qubits
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with quantum libraries (QuTiP, ProjectQ)
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding
- Experience mentoring quantum computing research teams
- Deep understanding of quantum information theory and topological quantum computing
