Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuits on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Lead research projects in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing
- Publish breakthrough findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Develop quantum software tools and SDKs for commercial deployment
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to lab's IP portfolio
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault tolerance techniques
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments
- Track record of securing competitive research funding
