Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical HPC infrastructure
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Collaborate with Intel and IBM on quantum hardware co-design
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development using Qiskit/Cirq
- Published work in quantum complexity theory or quantum machine learning
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in high-performance computing (HPC) environments
- Strong track record of securing government research funding
- Experience mentoring postdoctoral researchers
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware constraints (superconducting, trapped ion)
