Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for real-world applications
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Develop quantum simulation frameworks for materials science and drug discovery
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum system performance
- Secure research funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and publish high-impact papers
- Present findings at IEEE Quantum Computing Summit and similar forums
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Publication record in Nature/Science or top-tier quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error correction techniques
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra and group theory
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary research projects
- Clearance for DoD quantum security research (or ability to obtain)
