Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, machine learning, and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional research teams to prototype quantum-classical hybrid solutions
- Author breakthrough publications in top-tier journals and conference proceedings
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and establish new research methodologies
- Translate theoretical quantum models into practical hardware-software interfaces
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years post-grad research
- Published work in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and Qiskit/Cirq frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and topological computing
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated success in securing research grants or industry partnerships
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong track record of mentoring graduate researchers
