Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental research on qubit coherence and error correction methodologies
- Develop quantum-classical hybrid computing frameworks for practical applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into functional prototypes
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at leading quantum conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-departmental innovation
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years quantum research experience
- Published work in Nature/Science or top-tier quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency with quantum simulation tools (Qiskit Aer, Cirq) and high-performance computing
- Track record of translating theoretical concepts into experimental implementations
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex quantum concepts to diverse audiences
