Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for cryptography, optimization, and molecular modeling applications
- Architect fault-tolerant quantum computing systems targeting 2026 deployment milestones
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to hybridize classical-quantum computational workflows
- Publish groundbreaking research in Nature/Science journals and industry whitepapers
- Mentor a team of quantum physicists, computer scientists, and hardware engineers
- Secure $10M+ in research grants from DARPA, NSF, and private consortiums
- Develop ethical frameworks for quantum technology governance and deployment
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years research experience
- Published 15+ peer-reviewed papers in quantum computing or topological systems
- Expertise in quantum error correction, superconducting qubits, and photonic architectures
- Proven track record of securing government/private research funding ($5M+)
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Quil)
- Experience leading multidisciplinary R&D teams of 15+ researchers
- Deep understanding of NISQ-era limitations and fault-tolerant roadmaps
