Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and data scientists
- Develop roadmaps for quantum hardware integration with classical systems
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private foundations
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish industry partnerships
- Ensure compliance with quantum security protocols and ethical standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience with quantum computing platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, D-Wave)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Proven track record of securing federal research funding
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science journals
- Experience with Cirq, Qiskit, or other quantum programming frameworks
- Active Q-clearance or equivalent security clearance preferred
- Published work on quantum advantage demonstrations
