Responsibilities
- Develop and publish annual horizon scanning reports on emerging technologies, societal shifts, and market disruptions through 2028
- Design innovation frameworks and strategic roadmaps for product development, market entry, and organizational transformation
- Lead scenario planning workshops to prepare for alternative futures in AI, climate tech, and biotechnology
- Partner with R&D teams to prototype future-facing solutions and validate market readiness
- Establish KPIs and measurement systems for tracking innovation maturity and future-readiness
- Represent the organization at global futurist forums and thought leadership summits
- Mentor junior strategists in futures thinking methodologies and trend analysis techniques
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Strategic Foresight, Innovation Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in innovation strategy, consulting, or R&D leadership
- Proven track record of developing and implementing future-oriented business strategies
- Expertise in horizon scanning, scenario planning, and trend analysis methodologies
- Deep understanding of exponential technologies (AI, quantum computing, synthetic biology)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex futures into compelling narratives
- Certification in strategic foresight (e.g., from the Association of Professional Futurists)
- Portfolio demonstrating published foresight work or innovation frameworks
