Responsibilities
- Develop and implement 5-year technology roadmaps for emerging sectors including AI ethics, climate tech, and neuro interfaces
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives in partnership with MIT, Stanford, and global innovation labs
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies with 2026 commercialization potential
- Present strategic technology briefings to C-suite executives and external stakeholders
- Manage $5M+ innovation budgets with ROI-focused resource allocation
- Drive open-source contributions to global technology standards bodies
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of rapid experimentation
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; PhD preferred
- 8+ years experience in emerging technology strategy at Fortune 500 or scale-up companies
- Proven track record launching at least 3 breakthrough technologies to market
- Expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, synthetic biology, or decentralized systems
- Published research in peer-reviewed journals or industry white papers
- Proficiency in technology forecasting methodologies (Delphi, scenario planning)
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Authorized to work in the US with ability to travel 15% internationally
