Responsibilities
- Architect and execute the 2026 technology innovation roadmap aligned with market trends and business objectives
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing proof-of-concepts for emerging technologies (quantum computing, AI ethics, biotech integration)
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies with 3-5 year commercialization potential
- Secure $5M+ annual R&D budget through compelling investment proposals and ROI analysis
- Establish strategic partnerships with academic institutions and industry pioneers
- Present technology forecasts to stakeholders through executive briefings and industry forums
- Mentor junior innovators and cultivate a culture of experimentation and calculated risk-taking
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy, R&D leadership, or emerging technology development
- Proven track record in commercializing next-gen technologies (quantum, AI, blockchain)
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with focus on innovation
- Expertise in horizon scanning, technology forecasting, and scenario planning methodologies
- Experience securing multi-million dollar R&D budgets from executive stakeholders
- Deep understanding of ethical AI frameworks and sustainable tech principles
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Certification in Technology Strategy or Innovation Management preferred
