Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 technical support to employees via phone, email, and in-person, resolving hardware and software issues.
- Maintain and update the Help Desk ticketing system to ensure accurate tracking of all support requests.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of new hardware and peripherals for incoming staff.
- Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including software updates, patch management, and data backups.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and standard operating procedures in the knowledge base.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot complex network connectivity problems.
- Conduct basic IT orientation and training sessions for new hires.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic understanding of computer networking concepts (IP addresses, DNS, routers).
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Willingness to obtain industry-recognized certifications (such as CompTIA A+) within 12 months of employment.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to our Washington, DC office.
